It is the cooked (calcined) powdered form of base gypsum. It is achieved by cooking the base gypsum (CaSO4*2H2O) at 150-160°C.  When plaster is mixed with water, it takes the water it lost so  it becomes solid rather quickly thus resulting to its usage in such as; structures, relief and ornamentation, orthopaedics, dentistry, sculpture even in farming it is used as soil conditioner.
